A common denominator is always there between objects and our perception of objects. Despite differences between individuals, relationships, referred to as a ¡®generality,¡¯ a ¡®universality,¡¯ or a ¡®promise,¡¯ often emerge between the two. Intentionally crossing or cutting through these relationships is a visual method we might call ¡®defamiliarizing,¡¯ or ¡®newly viewing,¡¯ which is often found in works of art. In my opinion, those who stand foremost in this field are little more than sadists!
Each part of the body they accept is unlike the body we consider. The human flesh - soft, squashy, and sometimes sweet - intersects with new objects of the same form, but differs in their head. Away from a generally accepted awareness, they reify the body. Their sadistic, perverted, abnormal behavior is caused by this difference of perception. The interrelated editing of objects naturally brings about clashes between objects, and each experience the object has collides between them. Any abnormal activity is thus naturally derived from any such psychological clash. The difference between artists and sadists seems to depend on whether the result of defamiliarization is aesthetic or violent.
Why did they begin seeing differently? Probably because someone deprived them of their gentle sensibilities. Their sensibilities, soft as flesh, with the experience of affection the sensibilities bring. I feel humanistic compassion for them because they are like the homeless, craving for emotion and affection.
